As the reigning double world champion, he experienced his most difficult year with the factory Ducati team, managing a mere two victories and ultimately finishing a distant fifth in the overall standings. This downturn in performance was particularly noticeable when contrasted with his new teammate, Marc Marquez. But here's where it gets controversial... Bagnaia's difficulties last season were primarily attributed to a lack of front-end feeling. This issue was eventually pinpointed to a subtle but impactful component: the rear ride height device on the GP25. He understands firsthand how seemingly minor technical adjustments can have a profound effect on a rider's performance. “In this environment, where everyone is the best of the best, the small details are very important,” Lorenzo stated. He recalled a personal experience from his time at Yamaha in 2014, where a year after fiercely battling Marc Marquez for the championship, significant rule changes – including harder tires and a reduction in fuel capacity – completely altered the character of his bike. “Perhaps from the outside it didn't seem like much, but for me it changed a lot of things, and my results were very bad at the beginning of the season,” he explained, illustrating the sensitive nature of rider-machine synergy.
