Unveiling Andhra Pradesh's Global Investment Story: A Davos Journey

In a bold move, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has taken the stage at Davos, showcasing Andhra Pradesh as a prime destination for global investments. With a vision to transform the state, Naidu has initiated an impressive 25 new policies for industrial development, focusing on digital media and virtual production.

But here's where it gets controversial... Naidu's mission at Davos wasn't just about attracting investments; it was about empowering the youth. He emphasized the need for skill development, recognizing the global demand for a skilled workforce. This approach sets Andhra Pradesh apart, as it aims to create a sustainable and skilled future workforce.

Promoting Innovation and Entrepreneurship: A New Era

Naidu engaged with Kishore Lulla, the visionary behind Eros Innovations, to showcase investment opportunities in AI-driven sectors. He highlighted the government's encouragement of investments in digital media, virtual production, and creative industries, with a goal to generate massive employment opportunities for the youth. Lulla, impressed by Naidu's vision, dubbed him the "Davos Man Chandrababu."

Eros Innovations presented their ambitious projects, including Eros Gen AI, a Film City powered by AI, virtual production studios, and virtual reality tourism experiences. These initiatives are part of their 'Discover Andhra Pradesh 360' campaign, aimed at attracting global attention and investment.

Addressing the Telugu diaspora, Naidu urged them to embrace entrepreneurship, offering a Rs 50-crore corpus fund and support through the Rata Tata Innovation Hub. He also highlighted AP First, a research center in Tirupati, promoting innovation and aiming to attract Rs 22 lakh crore in investments to create 20 lakh jobs.

Andhra Pradesh's Global Appeal: A Davos Showcase

On January 20, Naidu addressed a breakfast session organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), themed "The Andhra Pradesh Advantage." He proudly showcased the state's achievements, attracting 25% of India's total investments. He cited examples like Google's AI data center in Visakhapatnam, Green Ammonia projects in Kakinada, and ambitious plans for ports, airports, and space cities.

Naidu inaugurated the India Lounge at WEF, declaring India as the safest and most preferred destination for foreign investments. He predicted India's rise as the world's third-largest economy within the next two years and its potential to reach the top position by 2047.

During entrepreneurship-focused sessions, Naidu promoted the "one family-one entrepreneur" policy, discussing collaborations with tech giants IBM and Google to train youth in AI, quantum technologies, and cybersecurity.

Investment and Tourism: A Dynamic Duo

On January 21, Naidu met global industrial leaders, exploring opportunities in the tourism and hospitality sectors. He highlighted the potential for Godavari river cruise tourism, and identified other promising locations like Konaseema, Gandikota, Araku, and Lambasingi.

Naidu also initiated youth training in artificial intelligence by meeting with Calibo AI Academy executives. He announced plans to establish a Centre of Excellence at the IT SEZ in Visakhapatnam. Additionally, he revealed that the foundation for the Arcelor Mittal Nippon Steel Plant in Anakapalli district would be laid after Feb. 15, with a massive first-phase investment of Rs 60,000 crore.

Furthermore, Naidu met UAE Minister Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi to discuss setting up a Dubai food cluster in Andhra, further strengthening the state's global brand.

A Successful Davos Tour: Reflecting on AP's Global Brand

On January 22, the Andhra Chief Minister reflected on his four-day tour, a whirlwind of over 36 meetings with global leaders. He met with Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran, discussing projects in tourism, sports cities, Quantum Valley in Amaravati, and solar power initiatives in Kurnool.

This Davos journey has positioned Andhra Pradesh as a global investment hub, with a focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.
